Our Goals at Home-Sweet-Home... Country Living Childcare:
|
My goal is to provide a safe and happy place for children. I have a semi-structured environment.
That is, I have a schedule for the day and teach a preschool program: however, I also feel part
of 'family home' daycare is to make the child feel like they're at home. To accomplish this, I
get them involved with meal planning (this may include taking a trip to the grocery store), they
will help clear the table, and may even help fold an occassional small load of laundry.
|
Studies have shown that these types of activities help nurture a sense of well-being and belonging
in children. and contribute dramatically towards the development of self-esteem.
This
year I am adding school-aged children to my program. I'm excited to be offering a fun and safe alternative
to the usual afterschool care program. We will have crafts, science projects, or just plain ol' FUN!
I will also offer a quiet area for those children who wish to do homework
